Other active responsibility measures in the area
Everything possible is efficiently sorted and recycled.
- There are collection points in the area with separate bins for paper, cardboard, metal and glass.
- Hazardous waste is properly delivered to the appropriate sorting and treatment centres.
- Food is collected in bio waste bins and mixed waste is collected in communal bins.
- Waste containers are collected centrally from the site and transported to the Oulu waste incinerator, one of the most efficient in Europe.
Business procurement favours local producers and products, e.g. local food and souvenirs.
Almost all tourism businesses in the area have a Green Start description of responsible business.
