Come and enjoy the winter wonderland on this skinbased skiing trip in Syöte National Park! We ski calmly in Syöte’s old-grown forest where the mind and eyes get a rest. At times, we descend nice hills and climb over ridges to admire the winter nature around us. During the trip you will hear about the history of the area, nature, and today’s park services. We take also a nice break to enjoy snowy views and some hot berry juice.

Snowmobile safari to wilderness at 14:00
The safari starts from Hotel Iso-Syöte where the snowmobiles are lined up. The track goes first down hill, and then onwards along fells, through the forest with heavy snow-covered trees and over ice covered swamps or lakes. We stop to make a coffee near the campfire. After the break we start the snowmobiles again to drive back up the Iso-Syöte hill.

A magnificent creation of nature. Transfer to Korouoma canyon (about 1,5 hr drive). From the parking a here-and-there steep descent to the canyon of about 1,5 km. Every rider under the age of 18 must have a guardian’s written permission to participate in free riding.

Safari starts from Hotel Iso-Syöte by snowmobile to the huskyfarm where the huskies are eagerly waiting for visitors. After introducing the huskies and instructions, you take off with the huskies, strongly pulling your sledge. The safari route goes through snowy forests and ice-covered swamps in Syöte area. There are stops to switch drivers and to take pictures. After the husky sledge ride we will enjoy coffee and snacks.

Kicksledge glides and rides at 14:30
A real Finnish way of moving around when snow covers the paths. Kicksledges are big fun to glide down the hill and ‘kicking’ them upwards again with one leg while the other is standing on one glider to hold the grip. It takes some energy and action from yourself, but it gives big snowfun on the Iso-Syöte hilltop. Your efforts are rewarded when reaching the kota where the campfire will be made and coffee with bun will be served.

Snowmobile safaris day/evening
It’s easy to go on a guided safari, also suitable for beginner snowmobilers. The driving route goes through the snowy forest in the fell country. Getting equipped at the LumiAreena, where we are introduced to the snowmobiles and given driving instructions. Then we go on a 10-20 km long safari where we enjoy a warming drink during the break.

- Price for day safari: 120 €/adult (2 adults/snowmobile), 165 €/adult (1 adult/snowmobile), 60 €/child (under 12 years)

Snowmobile and husky safari
Combine snowmobile and husky safari on the same trip. The safari begins with a husky safari, where you ride a 7 km forest trail with dog sledges. After the ride, you will enjoy lunch. After lunch, you will ride a snowmobile, where you can enjoy snowy landscapes through forests and over lakes. It is easy to join a guided safari, also suitable for beginner sledders.
- Duration of the program: approx. 5-6 hours
- Price: 275 €/adult, 120 €/child (under 14 years)
- Included: guide services, driving instruction,driving equipment, snowmobile, fuel, lunch
- Also includes overalls and winter boots if needed, bring other winter clothing such as hats and mittens with you. Please indicate your size if you need overalls and boots. Overalls are recommended to be loose.

7 km or 12 km husky safari
Experience an exciting husky safari! On this safari, each adult (over 14 years old) drives their own four-dog sledge on a forest trail. No previous experience is required. Younger children can sit in the guide’s sledge. The program includes guidance, team preparation, touring the trail, and hydration for dogs and customers – snow for dogs, hot coffee or cocoa for customers.
7 km husky safari:
- Duration: approx. 2 hours. Starts at 10:00 or 13:30, start time may vary

12 km husky safari:
- Program duration: approx. 2.5 hours. Starting time may vary.
- Price: 225 €/person (1 person/sled), 120 €/child (under 14 years)

Northern lights hunting by car at 20:00
On the northern lights trip, we drive away from the village lights, to the best northern lights viewing spots. If we’re lucky, we’ll get to admire the starry sky and witness the northern lights blazing. During the trip, the guide will tell you about the aurora as a phenomenon and related stories. At a suitable point in the trip, we enjoy hot juice and snacks.
- Pick-up locations: Hotel Iso-Syöte (Isosyötteentie 246) at 7:45 p.m., Syöte Booking Centre (Romekievarintie 2) at 8:00 p.m.

- Please note that the northern lights are a natural phenomenon, the occurrence cannot be guaranteed even if the weather is ideal.

Visit and hike to the frozen waterfall of Korouoma in Posio
A magnificent creation of nature. Transfer to Korouoma canyon (about 1,5 hr drive). From the parking a here-and-there steep descent to the canyon of about 1,5 km. Free hiking and strolling towards the frozen wall. Guide will make lunch around campfire. Going back is a demanding hike uphill again, you need to be in good physical condition. By transfer back to Iso Syöte. Day excursion including lunch by campfire.

Rent a horse for your free riding in a fenced field, between 10:00-16:00
Rent a horse for your free riding in a fenced field! It requires that you can manage the horse and control the horse in every gait. Those who ride freely must know how to pick up the horse from the stable, take care of it, saddle, mount, and ride completely independently without help. Every rider under the age of 18 must have a guardian’s written permission to participate in free riding.

Visit to Syöte horse farm, between 12:00-14:00
Visit Syöte’s horses! They are owned by a horse loving family, where everybody, from young to old, takes care of them. During the visit you will be introduced to the horses and learn how to take care of them. You will even brush and groom them! The program does not include riding.

Horse or pony riding led by an instructor, between 12:00 and 14:00
Horse or pony riding led by an instructor is suitable for both children and adults! Syöte’s horse stable is located at private home, where the whole family participates in the farm’s work. At the moment one Finnish Horse, one Irish Cob, and a pony live in the stable. You can ride in the fenced field either with the stable’s instructor or led by you. The weight limit for ponies is 40kg/145cm.
