What is the easiest way to book accommodation?

You can make the booking easily from the front page’s calendar. If you want personal assistance, please contact Syöte Booking Centre, tel. +358 8 823 400 or by e-mail

What happens after I have made the booking?

We will send you by e-mail a booking confirmation, which includes the invoices and instructions – the caretaker’s contact information and directions which allows you to find the key pick-up point and lodging location.

How can I pay my booking?

Bookings made through the online booking system can be paid by credit card (Visa or MasterCard). If you have booked the accommodation from our office, we can also send you an invoice, which can be paid through bank or by credit card (Visa or MasterCard).

Where do I get the keys to my cottage?

You have received a booking confirmation to your e-mail address. The booking confirmation includes the key pick-up point.

What time can I check-in?

The check-in time on the day of arrival is earliest at 16:00. On Sundays check-in time is earliest at 18:00 except some cottages. Please check from your booking confirmation the check-in times and instructions for late arrival time.

Should I check-out at 12 or can I stay longer?

In most of the cases, the check-out time is on Sundays at 3 pm and on other days at noon. If there isn’t anybody coming on the same day, you can ask for later check-out time. Please check the availability from our office Syöte Booking Centre, tel. +358 8 823 400 or by e-mail

Should I make the final cleaning by myself?

In some cottages the final cleaning is included all year round and in some cottages only during winter season. Please check from your booking confirmation is the final cleaning included in the price. When the final cleaning is not included in the price you can either take care of it yourself or you can order it from the Syöte Booking Centre at an extra charge. Cleaning instructions are found in the cottage folder. When the final cleaning is included in the price you still have to do the dishes and bring garbage to the garbage bin.

Can I use a mobile home, caravan or a tent next to the cottage?

Tents, mobile homes or caravans are not allowed on the same site as the accommodation. There are two caravan sites at Syöte area, where you can stay in your mobile home, caravan or tent.

Is there a small grill for barbeque at the cottage?

If there is a small grill for barbeque at the cottage, it is mentioned in the description text.

Is there a WiFi connection available at the cottage?

If there is a WiFi connection available, it is mentioned in the description text.

If I can’t come and I have to cancel my booking?

Our cancellation policy can be found at our booking terms.

What if I have to leave before my booking ends? Can I have some compensation?

If you leave before rental period ends, compensation will not be paid.

If me or somebody close to me gets sick and I have to cancel my booking, can I get a refund?

If your cancellation is due to sudden illness / injury / death of a close relative or your travel party, we will refund you your payment reduced with the 60 € cancellation fee and 14 € service fee. You will have to present a reliable document, e.g. a doctor’s certificate of the case. If somebody gets sick during the holiday and you leave before rental period ends, compensation will not be paid.

Do I need a KeyCard? What does it cost and how does it work?

All lift passes that are for two(2) days or more are loaded to a KeyCard. KeyCards from other resorts are accepted. Price for a new KeyCard is 6€. Please note that KeyCard’s are not refunded.

Are the slopes in a good condition?

Slopes are groomed daily. SnowParks are also shaped daily by hand. All our slopes are always in a best possible shape!

Is there a discount for groups?

Yes! At Iso-Syöte Ski Resort a group is 15 or more people. All group tickets and rentals must be booked in advance, one day prior to arrival, the latest. All passes and rental gear need to be paid and picked up at one go. Different sport vouchers are not accepted as a payment method. Please find out the prices and more here.

What kind of slopes is there?

Iso-Syöte has all together 17 slopes. Four beginner slopes at the Snow World, three SnowParks, a FreeridePark and several blue, red and black slopes. Please find out more here.

Which lifts are free of charge?

Rope tow and conveyor belt, located to SnowWorld, are free of charge for everybody. Children from 0-6 years of age ski for free with adult, when wearing a helmet.

What kind of ski lifts is there?

In Snow World you will find a rope tow, a conveyor belt, a poma lift and a t-bar. All other lifts around the resort are t-bars. We have the total number of 8 lifts.

What is there for children?

Iso-Syöte Snow World is the place to be for families and kids! Walk trough the gate to meet our mascot reindeer Musti and Lysti (hint:they looove lichen), ski in three easy slopes, barbecue sausage on traditional Finnish open-fire, play, toboggan! Where can you book guided safaris

There are several companies in the area providing safari services: Hotel Iso-Syöte, Syötteen Eräpalvelut, Hotel Pikkusyöte

How old do you need to be to drive a snowmobile

Min 15 years. On marked routes one must have a driver’s license. Hotel Iso-Syöte: on guided tours there’s an age limit 18 years for driving a snowmobile. Driver’s license is required. Small children, 5 years and up, can sit with one parent in a snowmobile. Smaller children can join a snowmobile safari sitting in a sledge, pulled by the guides. No more than two persons are allowed to sit on one snowmobile.

How to dress for safari activities

When joining a guided tour, you will be provided with a warm overall, boots and socks, gloves, caps and/or helmets. Underneath, you’ll need warm layers. The colder the weather, the more layers you’ll need – woollen and softshell clothing will keep you warm. The overall works as a wind stopper. You can wear your own coat and trousers if you like but beware, soot or oil might spoil your clothing. For snowshoeing, however, it’s best to wear your own ski clothing or similar.

Where and when can you see northern lights / aurora borealis

The northern lights can be seen during the dark hours, most often in the night time. The sky has to be clear from clouds as the clouds won’t let the auroras shine through. The artificial lights (street lights etc) around you will dim the northern lights so it’s good to find a spacious, dark place for viewing the sky.

Where is the toboggan ride

In Iso-Syöte there’s a toboggan ride in the Snow World for Children. Another smaller ride is up the fell next to the Hotel Iso-Syöte and Fell Top Cottages.

Where can you go snowshoeing

In Syöte National Park visitor center, there’s a marked route for snowshoeing. However, you can go for an adventure on your own anywhere in the forests as the snow will protect the ground. The fell and hill tops with heavy snow on the trees offer a stunning surrounding for a wintry walk.
